Grassroots Development Program

About the Program

The Bringing Buckets Home Basketball Program is a two-year pilot initiative aimed at children aged 7-10 across seven (7) Primary Schools, designed to teach fundamental basketball skills while promoting teamwork, discipline, and personal development.

Endorsed by the Saint Lucia Basketball Federation and supported by the FIBA Foundation and the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports and Ministry of Education, the program provides structured training sessions led by trained coaches.

Program Goals

  • Enhance coach training and mentorship with advanced coaching workshops and refresher first aid training.
  • Develop a grassroots basketball coaching handbook to standardize training approaches and provide long-term coaching resources.
  • Improve program sustainability by securing long-term sponsorships and community partnerships.
  • Establish a pathway for talented players to transition into competitive youth leagues.
